Citizenship Advice

Thinking about becoming Swiss? Not sure if you meet the requirements or how to get started?

Many people in Zurich meet the requirements for the Swiss citizenship. But they hesitate because the administrative hurdles are high, and they’re uncertain about the process and costs. Do you feel the same? Then come along and bring your questions. A team of experts will advise you and help you understand the procedure.

WE TAKE A STAND. FOR VOTING RIGHTS. FOR EQUAL SAY. FOR YOU.

The free citizenship advice is a joint project by SP 6 and SP 10. We strongly believe that everyone who lives here should be recognized as a full member of society.  And in a democracy, that means having the right to vote.

One third of Zurich’s residents are not allowed to vote.

In the city of Zurich, 33.6% of the permanent population do not hold a Swiss passport (Source: 2023, Statistics Office of the City of Zurich). They live here, they work here, they pay taxes. But when it comes to political decisions, they have no say.

We believe: If you live here, you should have a voice.

Swiss citizenship laws are strict, and we can’t change them at the local level. But what we can do is support people who want to become Swiss citizens.
